Jedi Fallen Order has cloud saves through Origin instead of Steam. You just have to make sure that the cloud save option is selected in the Origin launcher which is turned on by default. I had played Fallen Order on my Desktop prior to the launch of the Deck and the first time I started up the game on my Deck my progress was already there.

Jedi Fallen Order is an EA game so it will be on Origin, when you bought it through Epic it would probably require you to tie in an Origin account, and very likely if you looked on that launcher it's there. Do you remember anything like that?

the answer is in an answer above. you have to run through an .exe file that will not launch the ea play login screen. But the progress will not be saved to the steam account and it's like starting a new game in a new device, starting all over but better than nothing. Add this .exe to your library as an Non-Steam game (through desktop mode)

I went in on the Jedi Fallen Order sale on the back of this post and it worked like a charm. I had some initial trouble linking my EA account to my steam account, as I hadn’t logged into my EA account in years (since Mass Effect 3 was new I think), so my account was disabled. For the steam client update channel, use "Steam Deck Beta". For the skin of BD-1 just use default skin or original skin. and also sometimes the origin of EA play ask for another internet in order to launch the game.(the EA play must launch if you wanna play the game. it drives me crazy i have to be online all the time)

Jedi: Survivor won't launch. it installed the EA app and had me log in to that the first time. Then it immediately closed. Now it pops up the EA app for a second before closing when I try to run it through Steam. When running through the EA app it reopens the EA app instead of closing everything. Fallen Order works fine opening in both ways.
