Noctua NH-U12A Chromax owners, is it really worth $129? I'm upgrading from a Ryzen 3600 to a 5800X3D and I'm considering getting the U12A to cool it, because the Chromax version will look really nice with my black and white build, especially with the white heatsink covers. However the massive price tag is making me think twice because there are

The NA-FD1 fan duct kit makes it possible to significantly improve the performance of Noctua NH-L9i and NH-L9a series CPU coolers in Small Form Factor (SFF) environments where there is a gap of 5mm or more (up to 45mm) between the cooler and a perforated top or side panel.
I run the Noctua NH-D15 with the Intel Core i9 13900K too. I limited the cooler to 50 % of its maximum rpm to make it run silent and set the temperature limit for the CPU to 80 °C and the maximum power consumption to 300 W which will never be reached, With around 24 °C at home in the long run the CPU takes an average of 160 W on full load. 1.

I was told to email noctua my invoice and they will send me a third clip for free. I did and they replied with a faq link that says they don't sell or offer any more clips because there's The Noctua NH-U12A CPU Cooler PRINT THIS ARTICLE The pound isn't worth what it used to be eight years ago, either: (UH12A, NH-U14S NH-D15, NH-D15S) compare to the older NH-D14, NU-U12S
No idea why they even sell this model with one fan when there is another identically priced equivalent from Noctua which comes with two, and the only difference seems to be the color scheme. There is also an equivalent model with two fans for $10 more.
Quieter fans isn't really going to help here, nor is it going to be worth the investment; any quieter fans you do decide to use are going to sacrifice some cooling performance. Noctua fans are already top of the line. Get a 360mm AIO and set a low fan curve. Problem solved. Quieter fans will hardly change anything in this case. First, users who want to use Noctua NH-D15 cannot use RAM with high height. The entire CPU cooler's height will be higher when attaching the front fan by raising a bit. And this results that more width of chassis are required. (Entire CPU cooler's height) = 165mm + (RAM's height) - 32mm. This review has the nh-d15 benchmarked against the h100i gtx, nepton 240, kraken x61, deep cool captain 240, thermaltake water 3 and it seems like the nh-d15 did pretty well. It's much quieter than all the closed loop coolers but loses against the kraken x61. Anybody here uses an NH-D15? Are they worth it?

Although they are generally similar, the NH-D15S can sometimes perform better than the NH-D15. There are a few reviews showing this.
The fin-stacks are denser, with a reduced gap between fins of 1.6 mm (compared to 1.9 mm of the original NH-D15), which translates to 20% more surface area for heat dissipation. The surface for contact remains nickel-plated copper, but Noctua is using eight 6 mm-thick heatpipes, compared to six on the previous generation.

Is the noctua nh-d15 worth it? Hi all Here in nz, the d15 sits just shy of $200, im happy to falk out the cash if the performance is actually there, im currently using a $20 deepcool cooler with my 10700kf, it works beautifully keeping temps low during gaming but my temps skyrocket to 98 degrees during video rendering causing the pc to crash The NH-D15S comes with one 140mm NF-A15 PWM fan but Noctua has sent us an extra NF-A15 PWM fan to test the NH-D15S with both one and two fan configuration. The NH-D15S retains the same six 6mm dual heatpipe design as the NH-D15 so overclocking with this beast won't be a problem. Noctua ships the NH-D15S with SecuFirm 2 mounting kit that makes GdU0U.
