2.0 SkyActiv-G Engine Problems and Reliability. Strangely enough, there are no serious problems. Since the start of sales, there have been several cases of oil pumps replacement, which for some reason did not develop the maximum pressure. It is worth noting the wear on the cams of the intake camshaft, which increases the noise of the engine.
The centerpiece of Mazda's marketing push for the 2013 Mazda MAZDA3 is its Skyactiv-G engine. This 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit might offer the same displacement as the base model's mill but it

The Skyactiv has engineered the engine to counter IVD with intake valves over 400 degrees and a air oil separator before the PCV valve. The PCV valve is lower in the intake and that makes whole oil settle in the bottom of the intake and not come up to the intake valves. Here are the most common symptoms of P0303 in the Mazda 3. There may be no noticeable symptoms at all. Check engine light; Your car may run rough, be down on power, and stall. Your 3 may produce excess vibration, especially at lower RPM. Fuel mileage may suffer. You may smell raw gas coming from the tailpipe. The engine may backfire.
Skyactiv X knocking sound. I have the new Mazda 3 sedan skyactiv X just over a year now, and had done around 13000km now (noticed sound after driving it for 2 months or so from new). Sometimes when the car is driven at a constant speed of around 70-80 km/h under 2000 rpm, it may sometimes make a weird knocking sound.

Within a day - often sooner - the car either won't start and at times won't even open. In the past month I've had to call Mazda Assist 7 times when ive been unable to jump start it myself and it's been at

The first step is an inspection. The second step involves reflashing the ECU. For whatever reason, the NHTSA listed this TSB under the 2013 models, but those dates of manufacture would seem to affect more of the 2012 models.
SkyActiv engines make non-EVs more efficient; The Mazda3 boasts a very impressive 0-60 time of 6.9 seconds which is roughly 1 to 1.5 seconds faster than most of its competitors like the Toyota
So naturally, the question comes to mind: “Are Mazda transmissions reliable?”. Mazda vehicles were notorious for automatic transmission problems in the early 2000s, especially the 626, Millenia, and MPV models. From 2005 to 2020, Mazda automatic transmissions in Mazda 3, 5, 6, CX-7, and CX-9 have been very reliable with few transmission issues. 2012-2013 Mazda3 Misfire Issue. Equipped with SkyActiv engines. The problem: Misfire conditions may be found throughout the engine. This could be due to carbon deposits forming around the intake mazda 3 Skyaktiv-G 120hp - mazda 3 Skyaktiv-G 120hp most common issues? - badbusdriver I do think Mazda deserve the criticism overall for their diesel disaster - it says something about a company which may produce some reliable cars but are still prepared to land badly designed rubbish onto customers and then usually give them no backup Always stays on the full line. Also the majority of manufacturers consider one quart of oil burn between oil changes to be acceptable. The nice thing about the Mazda 3 if the oil level gets low it will warn you before any issues. But as others said you should be checking you level on any car between oil changes. ltTt.
